Write a 700- to 1.050-word essay explaining the content of the videos assigned for this week on the institution of religion, the family, and education.
- Prepare an introduction that identifies the major social institutions in society (family, media, religion, education) and discusses why each are important.
- Describes each video and the social institutions they address.
- Identify any relevant models of power structure or political behavior which might be influential. Provide a couple of examples from each at least 2 of the videos on how power structures of political behavior play a role in changes or forms of social institutions.
- Explain the functionalist, conflict, and interactionist perspectives on the family, religion and education. Provide 2 examples from the films that represent 1 of each of the perspectives. That is, you should have 2 examples of functionalism, 2 examples of conflict, and 2 examples of interactionism that are present in the videos.
- Provide a conclusion that summarizes the main ideas of the essay and describes how these institutions (religion, family, and education) have influenced you.
